The problem

Slow charging.
Usually the wrong adapter.

The phone is rarely the problem. The little brick in the wall decides how fast you charge.

Too little power.

An old 5W USB-A adapter charges a modern phone slowly. A USB-C adapter with more watts gets you going faster.

Wrong port.

USB-C to USB-C and Lightning to USB-C fast charging needs a USB-C adapter. Not USB-A.

Not enough for a laptop.

Laptops need far more power than phones. Match the watts your laptop asks for.

20W and 25W

Phone-fast. Pocket-small.

USB-C wall adapters that fit an outlet, a bag and a daily routine. Pair them with a USB-C cable for faster charging.

Buying guide

How to pick the right adapter.

  • Check the port.USB-C is the modern standard. USB-A adapters are slower and need an older cable.
  • Match the watts.20W to 30W for phones and tablets, 60W or more for laptops. Check what your device asks for.
  • Think multi-port.One 4-port adapter can replace a drawer of bricks.
  • Pair it with a good cable. The adapter only charges as fast as the cable allows. Read our USB-C cable guide.
  • Check the plug.Use a Canada and US plug at home. Traveling abroad? Get a travel adapter.

Questions?

What is the difference between a 5W and a 20W charger?

Power. A 5W USB-A adapter is the slow, old-school kind. A 20W USB-C adapter is the usual match for current iPhones and many Android phones and charges noticeably faster when paired with a USB-C cable.

Can I charge my laptop with a phone charger?

A low-power phone charger may charge a laptop very slowly or not at all. Check the wattage your laptop needs and pick an adapter that matches or beats it, such as a 67W USB-C adapter for a MacBook.

Will a higher-watt charger damage my phone?

No. A phone only draws the power it is designed to take. A higher-watt adapter simply gives you headroom, so one charger can cover your phone, tablet and more.

Do I need a special cable for fast charging?

Yes, the cable matters. For USB-C fast charging use a USB-C to USB-C cable or a Lightning to USB-C cable. See our USB-C cable guide for options.

Do you ship across Canada, and can I pick up in store?

Yes. We ship across Canada, and pickup is free at our Welland and Fonthill locations. Checkout shows shipping rates and estimated delivery times for your address.
